Zafer Gurel is the Software Engineering Director at Constructor Tech and manages the Constructor Groups product. Previously, he was the co-founder and CTO of Perculus and the co-founder of Advancity, two pioneering Turkish ed-tech companies acquired by Constructor Tech in 2025. Their platforms served over two million students across 70+ universities and 100+ organizations, including corporations, government agencies, and academic institutions. He is also an instructor at Constructor University in Bremen.

Zafer is completing his PhD in Computer Science at Ozyegin University, where he began his doctoral research in 2022. His research focuses on streaming technologies, especially Media-over-QUIC, with additional expertise in DASH, HLS, and WebRTC. He has authored or co-authored 14 papers on Media over QUIC and is a member of the core development team of MOQtail, an open-source IETF-compliant Media over QUIC library suite.
