Jonathan is a data scientist and cross-functional leader, acting in this role as the Director of AI at Wikimedia Deutschland. He spent a life exploring space science and education for over a decade — teaching astrophysics, data science, and leadership in four countries. Through his role at WMDE, Jonathan has worked with the Director of Product Development to lead the Software Development Department and its impact in three years, including creating the first software product to engage with the generative-AI web through Wikidata. Starting in 2026, WMDE and Jonathan initiated the Free & Open Knowledge AI Initiative to strategically anchor Wikimedia values within the generative AI web.
