Franck Aumont is a Video Architect within the Media Services Group at InterDigital France. He works on a broad range of video innovation domains, including streaming protocols, video encoding, and AI-driven video processing.
With over 26 years of experience, he has contributed to the design and development of end-to-end video distribution systems across IP, cable, satellite, and terrestrial networks. He is actively involved in international standardization efforts within 3GPP, MPEG, DVB, and ATSC 3.0, with a focus on delivering innovative services while ensuring optimal Quality of Experience (QoE) for end users.
In recent years, his work has focused on reducing the energy consumption and carbon footprint of video delivery systems. His research particularly emphasizes adaptive streaming techniques—primarily to enable more efficient media client selection and minimize overall delivery chain energy usage.
