As project lead, Boris oversees the development and deployment of “moin.schule,” the centralized school identity management system operated by the German state of Lower Saxony. The platform provides a central single sign-on service with user and group data management for all students, teachers, and guardians at general and vocational schools in Lower Saxony. Boris is responsible for its initial concept, technical planning, and implementation. He also oversees the “Schulconnex” standardization project, which defines a data exchange standard for school information systems tailored to the requirements of German educational technology and European data protection regulations. This open-source standard is utilized across multiple German states and by various EdTech providers. As of 2025, Schulconnex is being operated and further developed by the FWU Institute for Film and Pictures, the media agency for Germany’s federal states. Boris possesses extensive experience in developing and deploying educational software. He holds a degree in information law and has a professional background in teaching at general schools. He looks forward to a lively and open exchange with attendees of the Fraunhofer FOKUS Learning Technology Symposium 2026.
