Jan Outters is Director, Technology & Standards at Ateme, where he helps the Research & Innovation team develop future technologies for video processing and delivery, and drive partnership projects and standardization. He is also vice chair of the DVB CM-AVC work group that defines commercial requirements for audio and video encoding.

Throughout his 20 years in the television business, Jan has developed new technologies and products for media delivery at SES, defined European Standards for UHD at Samsung Electronics, and defined specifications at Philips (TP Vision). Prior to that, he represented the German public channels on spectrum matters. Jan holds a master’s degree in electrical engineering from the Ecole National Supérieure de Radioélectricité et d’Electronique de Grenoble (ENSERG) and a degree in electrical engineering from the University of Karlsruhe.
