François tracks standardization opportunities for media and entertainment within the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) where he serves as staff contact for the media-related Media Working Group, Second Screen Working Group and GPU for the Web Working Group, as well as for the less media-related Browser Testing and Tools Working Group. With a developer background, François initially joined W3C in November 2007 from Microsoft and has been exploring new topics for the web since then. François also co-chairs the Web Developer Experience (WebDX) Community Group that maintains a catalog of web features for web developers.
