We’re thrilled to announce that the 13th FOKUS Media Web Symposium (#FOKUSMWS) will take place once again in Berlin on June 16–17, 2026.
As we prepare for another exciting edition, we look back at the success of the 12th MWS, which welcomed over 280 participants from 21 countries. With 6 tutorials, 4 workshops, and 7 conference sessions featuring 83 speakers, the event explored innovations in QUIC-based streaming, low-latency delivery, sustainable media infrastructures, and real-time video platforms. A generational shift in leadership also marked a new chapter for the symposium, reinforcing its role as a hub for media technology advancement.

The 12th FOKUS Media Web Symposium (MWS) took place in Berlin, Germany, in June 2025. This yearly international conference, hosted by Fraunhofer FOKUS, gathered more than 280 participants from 21 countries to explore the domain of Internet-based media delivery.

The 2026 edition of FOKUS Media Web Symposium will spotlight AI-driven creativity, immersive experiences, and sustainable practices across the media value chain. Expect breakthroughs in generative workflows, XR storytelling, ultra-fast and secure distribution, personalized and eco-conscious consumption, and green streaming optimization.
