René Wagner, Technical Director Addressable TV and Data Platforms, smartclip Holding AG

René Wagner is Technical Director Addressable TV and Data Platforms at smartclip Germany, a part of Mediengruppe RTL. His team built up smartclip’s Addressable TV platform – from client side applications over API microservices to data analytics backend processing. René also leads the development in containerized infrastructure and automation of software deployment processes across the company.

He started his advertising technology career at Yahoo in 2009 followed by technical lead positions at Exactag, a cross channel attribution technology vendor and IPONWEB, an adserver technology customization vendor. He also was a member of the German OVK working committee Ad-Technology, where he supported the development of the video advertising standard VAST 3.0.
