Elfed is the DVB PCM (Promotions and Communications Module) Chair, a consultant, start-up founder, Technologist, CEO and Non-executive director with over 25 years’ experience in audio video and standardization.

Having trained as a silicon IC designer, Elfed has worked in many senior consulting and business development roles. He held the role of  Business Group Director at Dolby, responsible for its  next generation audio codecs and TV device licensing. He now consults on media standards for Huawei and is the founder of audio algorithm company, Elevear GmbH

He has worked worldwide on next generation audio and video , digital TV, radio, mobile TV and streaming. Elfed is also chair of the DVB’s Object Based Media study group, and a DVB Steering Board member. He is also a board member of  Khronos standards body for 3D Graphics.   He is  a former Reader at Manchester Metropolitan University’s School of Digital Arts.
