Dr. Tilman Buchner is Partner and Director at BCG and global leader of BCG’s 11 Innovation Center for Operations (ICO) in Europe, North- and South America as well as Asia. He is an expert in the (industrial) internet of things ecosystem, a recognized thought leader in software-defined automation & cognitive robotics as well as patent holder of various SW patens. With over nine years of C-level experience at multinational corporations, Tilman has a deep understanding of what it takes to lead complex organizations through transformation in the digital era.

Prior to joining BCG, Tilman served as Director of Engineering at BCG Digital Ventures; he was Chief Mobile Officer at ProSiebenSat.1 Group, Chief Technology & Innovation Officer at SevenVentures, and Head of Center for Mobile Products & Services at Scout24/AutoScout24.

Tilman received a Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Aachen Technical University (RWTH) and holds a master`s degree in business administration. Studies abroad at Seoul National University as well as Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) have shaped his academic career.
